In honour of the most heart-wrenching trilogy ever…

Yes, I am indeed talking about the one and only The Infernal Devices trilogy. I’ve been rereading it, and yet again, my heart is a total mess. đŸ˜„ So, in order to seek some solace, I’ve decided to do TID-themed ‘Word of the Day’s for a week. Each day’s word will be in honour of one of the characters. I’d like to include all of the characters, of course, but it really depends on whether I can fetch up the perfect words for them. Suggestions would definitely be appreciated!

Oh, wait. You guys DO like the idea, don’t you? (Please say yes!)

The Friday 56 #3

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme by Freda’s Voice. Here’s what you have to do to join:

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader (if you have to improvise, that’s okay.)
*Find any sentence(s) (just don’t spoil it).
*Post it.
*Add the link (of your post, not your blog) in the Linky of the original post.

Right now, I’m basically reading Angels & Demons (FINALLYY!!! Yayy!!! 😀 ), Heir of Fire, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Anya and the Shy Guy, AND also rereading City of Heavenly Fire and Clockwork Princess. (Okaaay. I just realised… that’s quite a lot.) Buuut… for quoting purposes, obviously I’m gonna choose my beloved darling, Clockwork Princess (not that I don’t love the others, of course).

Let’s find something from page 56 now, shall we? 😀

Will threw his arms up. “Oh, all right,” he said. “How’s this?

“Forsooth, I no longer toil in vain,
To prove that demon pox warps the brain.
So though ‘tis pity, it’s not in vain
That the pox-ridden worm was slain:
For to believe in me, you all must deign.”

Jem burst out laughing. “Well, that was awful.”

Will and Jem… oh God, adorable just doesn’t describe it. ❀

What are you currently reading? Are you enjoying it? I’d love suggestions! 😀

This is going to be from Cosmic by Fank Cottrell Boyce, one of the books that I am currently reading.

‘A Chinese desert. In China. You said it was down south.’

‘It is down south.’

‘I thought you meant London.’

‘But we were on a plane for hours. If you’re on a plane for hours and hours, obviously you’re going to go further than London.’

‘I thought it was a slow plane.’

A slow plane.

Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce (improvisation: pg 95)

This quote just totally cracked me up! XD Florida is simply ridiculous! ‘A slow plane’, seriously?

That’s What HE Said Thursday #2

That’s what HE said Thursday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by Chapter Break. I know I am a bit late this time, but my internet connection has been really crappy the last few days, so… let’s get on with this? 😉

Today’s post features Archer from Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan…Read More »

Top Ten Tuesday #1 : Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme by Broke and the Bookish, in which bloggers from all over the world come together to answer their weekly prompt. This week’s topic is — Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds (love reading, are writers, work at a bookstore, etc.)

I love bookish book characters (and I’m sure most others readers do as well), so this is just the awesomest topic for me!

Hermione Granger (Harry Potter, JK Rowling) – Well, it’s obvious, isn’t it? This is the first name that comes to my mind when I think of bookish characters. I bet most of the lists today will be featuring her! 😉

We love you, Hermione! 😀

That’s What HE Said Thursday #1

Hey there! That’s What He Said Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by Chapter Break. Since I recently finished reading The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay, I’m gonna share a quote from the endlessly adorable Josh:

“You know I meant it. I am human. And male. And not remotely blind. Do you want me to say it again? You are distractingly, even-if-that-is-not-a-real-word, pretty. You are so pretty that I bullied Clay Whitaker into drawing me a picture of you so I could look at you when you aren’t around. You are so pretty that one of these days I’m going to lose a finger in my garage because I can’t concentrate with you so close to me. You are so pretty that I wish you weren’t so I wouldn’t want to hit every guy at school who looks at you, especially my best friend.” I stop to catch my breath. “More? I can keep going.”

-Josh Bennett, The Sea of Tranquility

Do NOT tell me anything against Hermione Granger, I might just have to blast you in the face.

I guess the title explains it. Basically, today at Maths class, I somehow (I’m still not sure how, exactly. As far as I remember, I was, quite sincerely, solving problems from the exercise…) ended up in a conversation about popular book-fandoms. It was all going well, untilRead More »

17 Book Characters that I seriously wanted to slap, kick or kill…

I’m sure we all have had these experiences. Where we’ve come across book characters we just couldn’t stand and we hated them and what were they even doing in the books? Well, this list is for these characters. I hope you guys are up for a bit of ranting? 😉

[Note: At least three of the characters mentioned in this post are common favourites among readers. I know that after seeing their names in the list, some of you will come after me with a frying pan, taking inspiration from Tangled. Just know that I’ve kept myself well-armed… even if it’s only with chocolates. Chocolates are great shooting weapons, in case you didn’t know…]

Countdown begins! 😀Read More »
