What Are You Reading Wednesday #3

What Are You Reading Wednesday is a weekly feature on It’s A Reading Thing. Just grab the book you are currently reading and answer three questions:

1. What’s the name of your current read?
2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a couple of sentences.
3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

Well, I’d choose A Court of Wings and Ruin for this, but since I’ve just barely started it and can’t spoil myself for what’s going on at 34%, I’m gonna use the other book that I’m currently reading: Youre Never Weird on the Internet by Felicia Day.

Here’s a quote from 34% :

I never had a doubt that it was how my life was going to go, and I was going to make it happen. I didn’t go completely unprepared (I was only 95 percent stupid at the time), I had a few cards up my sleeve.

Well, this is actually an autobiography of sorts, so I don’t know what to say about “living in its world”. I wouldn’t mind having her life or being brought up the way she was, but I honestly don’t think I’d be able to live it the way she did. This woman is waayy too reckless with her life plans. I mean, I’m all for flexibility and change-according-to-need, but I need to have a plan of some sort to keep me moving. Stumbling if my plan fails: okay, activate new plan. Stumbling because of no plan: a big fat ERROR.

So that’s it for today’s WAYRW, folks, see ya!

The Girl Who Lived…

Yep, that’s me, just less prettier and with boring brown eyes instead of those beautiful twinkling green ones.

Hi!!! *waves like a maniac*

Sooo… About two years since I was last online, I guess? Guess my, ahem, break… went on a bit longer than I expected. But hey, it wasn’t my fault, ok? Life was an ABSOLUTE asshole to me. Honestly, I nearly broke, and so many times. Kept falling down, got back up again, and now… I guess I can finally say I am somewhat back to stability (whatever that is). I won’t be posting as frequently as I used to before, because *drumroll* I’m in college!

It’s the strictest college in my city, and I’m not even exaggerating. It’s got a reputation. Strict to the point of being prison-like. Sigh.

Whatever. Three years of torture and then I’ll be out.

Anywaaay, leaving that depressing topic aside, these two years have had its perks too. I’ve traveled a bit — Andaman, Benaras, Ladakh (tell me if you guys would wanna see pics, I can upload some). Also, I’ve read my fair share of books, which is always nice!

The Lunar Chronicles series, The Winner’s trilogy, the Shatter Me trilogy and lots of standalones too, including but not limited to Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, I Was Here by Gayle Forman and All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, which top the list. I’ve also been reading a fair bit of Cecelia Ahern and FINALLY decided to try out some of Haruki Murakami’s works (fallen in love instantly. If any of you out there haven’t read his works yet, please do give him a try! You won’t regret it, I promise ❤️). Oh, and I just finished Crooked Kingdom (probably the last one in the blogosphere, I’d reckon? Coz I didn’t even know it had been published until a few days back, when I decided to check 🤦) and I’m HEARTBROKEN, just saying. I can’t even get properly started on A Court of  Wings and Ruin coz my heart hasn’t healed yet. Ugh. #thestrugglesofbeingabookworm

Moving on, I’ve been on a sort of movie-watching binge lately (college is closed for vacation at the moment so enjoying all I can before I’m held captive again 😭). In the past couple of weeks, I’ve watched La La Land, Moonlight, Becoming Jane, Me Before You, The Shallows, Shes Out of My League and Passengers, to name a few. With the exception of the last one, none of them have disappointed (thankfully). In fact the first four were absolute gold, and my advice to anyone who hasn’t watched them: please do! I’ve also been watching a lot of Bengali detective movies (Feluda and Byomkesh, if anyone’s interested) and rewatched some movie-gold favourites: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, In Time, the Star Trek movies and some of my favourite Marvel movies. So yeah, awesome is the word.

Not willing to bore you further, but I’d be ashamed as a Bengali if I didn’t mention this. As I’m sure many of you know, Dussehra just passed us by. Here in Bengal where I live, it’s celebrated as Durga Puja, and it’s kind of a (VERY) big deal. Like a carnival of sorts, some would say. The entire city gets decked up in fabulous structures of art called pandals, which house idols of the Hindu deity Durga. Friends, food and hitting the road (in new clothes, of course) to watch these pandals (pandal-hopping, as we say)…. that’s Durga Puja in short. Nothing much, only it’s the biggest festival for the Bengalis.

So yeah. Belated happy Durga Puja to ya’ll. Stay happy, stay blessed.

So… The flight…

Remember the flight that I was talking about oh-so-excitedly in my last post? Here’s how it went, right from the journal that I was keeping on my phone… 😀

6.06 am – Left home. Eeeek! So excited!!
7.05 am – Reached airport (are all airports this huge??!)
8.20 am – Security check-in done. Just sitting and being all cool about everything (WHILE INTERNALLY SQUEALING ON THE INSIDE)
8.21 am – Well, what better to do than read my eARC? 😉
9.47 am – Plane is taking off!! Can’t wait to be in the air!!
9.48 am – Oh my gosh, the landscape looks just like a topography map from geography! Blocks of buildings, blue patches of water bodies, tiny green dots of trees… I feel like a bird. If I weren’t strapped to this miserable seatbelt, I would’ve totally spread out my arms and flapped them a bit. (Because I’m cool like that. 😉 )
9.50 am – The clouds are SO beautiful… and we’re completely surrounded by them… what a lovely thing. Sigh. 😍😍
10 am – Getting a bit bored. Think I’m gonna have to do something else other than just watching clouds (though they are still beautiful, of course).
10.15 am – Feeling a little sleepy here. Maybe I’ll just rest my eyes for a minute.
10.16 am – Just for a minute, of course…
10.18 am – zzzz….
11.34 am – Eeeeek!! Touchdown!!! 😀 😀

Okay, that probably makes it sound like I slept throughout the flight, which is absolutely not true! For one thing, there was a child aboard that kept throwing tantrums all the time, and wailed. And wailed. AND WAILED. On top of that, whenever I tried to read, the too-chatty passenger next to us kept barging in with humongous amounts of fast-paced speech. :/ I was like, “Duude, you NEED to know that you do NOT interrupt a BOOKWORM when she’s READING, unless you want to talk about MORE BOOKS. You just don’t.” But of course, I didn’t really say that to him. He was, after all, just trying to be polite. Or what he thought was being polite. He was clearly unaware of bookworm protocol. So I just smiled and pretended to be interested in his leather business.

That all changed, however, when he casually quoted Stephen King in passing. Of course, my ears automatically fine-tuned themselves. Turned out, he was a Stephen King fan! And would you believe it, he’s read every single book of Stephen King. 😮 I think he’s probably the only soul I’ve met till now who’s done that. I was like, “Duude, why didn’t you tell that to me BEFORE?? I would’ve paid so much more attention to whatever the hell you’d been saying till now!!!”

Of course, I didn’t say the last part out loud, but it was in my thoughts.

After that, the conversation got way more interesting. (Seriously, all that talk before about carcasses and dead skin had started to gross me out.) Of course, I would’ve preferred it if he was a full-fledged bookworm who read books, slept books, thought books, dreamt books — but he read Stephen King, and that was enough to make for a flight conversation. At least for me. 😛

So that was how it went. I was pretty thrilled, people! 😀

P.S. Oh, by the way, my Board exams start from the 8th of this month (I AM COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT HELP!!!) and after that I’ll be giving my Medical Entrance exams which will probably end sometime in May, so in the meantime if you see a lack of activity from my end, you know why. I won’t be commenting much, but I’ll definitely pop in to read and like stuff whenever I can! 😉

Flight flight flight!!!

Guys, I’m so nervous!!! On the 29th (that’s only 3 DAYS AWAY ohmygod), I’m gonna be boarding a flight — for the very first time in my life!!! (Yes, you got that right, I’ve never been on a plane before. Never.)

I’m thinking maybe I’ll feel queasy or throw up in the plane or something. That’d be so embarrassing. (Not to mention messy.) :/ Or maybe I’ll have a nosebleed because of the pressure change (I’ve heard that actually happens to people!) I hate nosebleeds! I mean, they seem like such a petty thing, but they’re like, a petty thing with BLOOD involved! Which I find to be very annoying — because are you even supposed to take them seriously or not?? Okay, I’m making no sense here. What I’m trying to say here, guys, is that I’m very, VERY nervous. I’m currently asking my friend random flight trivia questions via text, in an attempt to calm myself down (I’m not quite sure it isn’t having the very opposite effect, though). Anyway, do you have any suggestions? Advice? A list of Do’s and Don’t’s while in the airport, or during the flight, or while boarding, or landing? (I really love lists, by the way!) Please come up and share them! Or, even if you aren’t armed with a pamphlet of “Ways To Calm Down a Mad Girl About To Board a Flight for the First Time in Her Life”, please, just come and talk. That’d be sweet. And being sweet is always good help.

I better go before I start rambling nonsense again… but please, please, help me out! This poor girl is going nuts over here!

Not Okay, Cupid by Heidi R. Kling | Book Review

Title: Not Okay, Cupid

Author: Heidi R. Kling

Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult

Format: E-book

Pages: 195

Publication: January 11th 2016 by Entangled: Crush

Blurb (Goodreads)

Her wicked revenge, or his wicked heart…

Hazel McCallister loves her life. Perfect grades. Perfect best friend. Perfect boyfriend. Until her perfect boyfriend cheats on her with her perfect best friend. Now Hazel’s in free fall—until her best friend’s brother, Felix, gives her the perfect idea. Reclaim her power by taking revenge on her cheating ex.

Felix James loves his life. Casual relationships. Loads of surfing. He’s as drama-free as they come. But he can’t stand by when his sister steals her best friend’s boyfriend, and the dude insists it was Hazel’s fault. So Felix vows to help turn Hazel into a girl her ex can’t resist—so then she can break his heart.

With an alliance in place, Hazel’s revenge is all but assured. But with each piece of payback, she feels a stronger attraction to Felix, even though revenge will turn her into a girl Felix could never be with. And soon Hazel has to make an impossible choice: revenge…or Felix, the boy who’s stolen her heart.

WARNING! This book contains betrayal, revenge, and that most tempting vice of all, the bad boy you know you can’t have.

Hazel McCallister’s life is as perfect as can be — until she catches her boyfriend cheating with her childhood best friend. With her life turned upside down in an instant, Hazel feels incredibly small and powerless… heartbroken. But her best friend’s brother comes up with a perfect solution — a revenge plan. A fake relationship to make her ex jealous enough to come back to her and get together — only for her to dump him the way he did. Should be easy enough… right?

This book was adorably cute! The romance between Hazel and Felix developed slow and steady, with a perfect pacing, and I absolutely loved their banters. 😀

His eyes flickered down to my mouth, and he did that little eyebrow-raise thing, so I had to slug him.
We were just like ten-year-olds!

Reading the blurb, I’d initially feared Hazel to be some kind of shallow princess. Thankfully, she wasn’t at all like that. She had a past that added depth to her character, and she was generally a fun, smart, sweet and caring person. She’d thought of Jay as her perfect boyfriend and Kimmy as her best-friend-forever and had planned out her entire future with them, only to have it all shattered before her eyes. I liked her relationship with her mum and how she was willing to do anything to keep her happy and stress-free.

She had enough weight on her shoulders; I wanted to be light as feathers: a tickle, not a heavy pack weighing her down.

Felix was a sweetheart. Initially, he comes across as a casual, no-strings-attached kind of guy, but he really is so much more than that. As the older child, he helps out his mum by working at the diner and cooperating with her in just about anything else. He was a total Mama’s boy, and I found that so sweet!

“I just read this article that says when your kid hugs, you should never be the first to let go.”

“Does it say that you need to squeeze with the strength of an Amazonian python?”

She held me even mightier. “I just love my boy!”

I didn’t even try to resist. “I love you too, Ma.”

I basically adored everything about Felix. 😛

Jay and Kimmy were… I don’t even know what to say about them. At least with Kimmy, I could try and see her mindset (shallow as it was), I could try and understand why she did what she did.  But with Jay, there’s nothing to explain his cheating except for the fact that he was a complete idot and an annoying douchebag. I mean, seriously:

“Lentils are great for you, Hazel.”

“Good for you.”

Jay misunderstood her sarcasm. “No. Great for you.”

Not Okay, Cupid was an entertaining read. The plot was simple and predictable, but done nicely. The writing was fluid and easy, the pacing was smooth, and the characters were natural and relatable. Hazel and Felix were perfect for each other and I was wholeheartedly rooting for them. (Felix always brought on a silly grin on my face — point for him!) I also loved the little snippets about Psyche and Cupid at the beginning of chapters, and the ending chapter from their perspectives was really sweet!

I definitely enjoyed the book. 🙂

My Rating:

It’s 12.07 am here in India. My locality, never missing a single chance to celebrate, has lit up in excitement as usual. People are hugging, shouting, rejoicing. There are fireworks going off everywhere — it’s quite a sight to watch.

2015 has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, to say the least. At times, I’ve felt elated and at other times, completely depressed. I found new friends and lost an old one. There are things that I did that I’m proud of, and things that I know I could’ve done better. I honestly don’t know how to sum up the year. Nevertheless, now that it’s finally going away, I know I’m gonna miss it.

And 2016… what does it have in stock? Like all of you out there, I have no idea. But I know that no matter what it throws at me, I’ll get by. I’ll live, and I’ll try my best to do it happily — with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. And isn’t that what truly matters? I certainly think so.

Happy New Year 2016, everyone. 🙂 Let’s flourish with all things good.

What Are You Reading Wednesday #2

What Are You Reading Wednesdays is a weekly feature on It’s A Reading Thing. Just grab the book you are currently reading and answer three questions:
1. What’s the name of your current read?
2. Go to page 34 in your book or 34% in your eBook and share a couple of sentences.
3. Would you like to live in the world that exists within your book? Why or why not?

I’ve currently just begun reading Angelfall by Susan Ee, one of the many books which I’d planned to pick up much before but didn’t get around to.

Here’s something from page 34:

It’s not until I’m done and looking at him that I notice that he is looking back at me. All that hogtying must have woken him up. His eyes are a deep blue, so deep they’re almost black. I take a step back and swallow the absurd guilt that surfaces.

Like I said, I’ve only just begun reading the book. Still, I think I’ve seen enough of this post-apocalytic world to know that I wouldn’t wanna live there. Man, it sounds real bad.

(Well, if I were to suddenly come across a mysterious snowy white angel who seems to be my enemy but also seems to protect me… that kind of thing might make me change my mind. Just maybe. 😉 )

The book has me hooked in, though. I’m quite eager to know what happens next, and whether Penryn manages to find her sister or not. I hope the book doesn’t disappoint me. Judging from the excellent reviews it has got, it most likely won’t. Let’s wait and watch (read)!

Until then, au revoir!

Liebster and Siblinghood Awards

I’d been nominated by Alextheshadowgirl (who is one of my blog sisters, so you should totally check out her blog!) for a couple of awards — the Liebster Award and the Siblinghood of the World Bloggers Award. Since she’d combined both the awards in a single post, that’s what I’m gonna do as well.

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their blog.
2. Put the award logo on your blog.
3. Answer the 10 questions sent to you.
4. Make up 10 new questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Nominate 10 blogs.

I’m not gonna be nominating anyone because I’ve done this award before. (Actually it’s because I’m lazy, but it’s always nice to have an excuse.)

1) If your life was in danger, which book character would you want to be your Knight in Shining Armour?

Umm… Jace from TMI, please. ❤ *swoons*

2) Name a book villain you love to hate.

Bellatrix Lestrange. I HATE her. I LOATHE her. I will never forget that part in the Order of the Phoenix and what she did to Sirius… 😥

3) What’s the place you’ve dreamed of going since you were a kid?

Switzerland!!! ❤ The day when I actually visit that place is gonna be the happiest day of my life. 😀

4) Your favorite TV shows and why you love them.

I don’t really watch TV that much, so… *shrugs*

5) Your favorite band and song.

My FAVOURITE band would be Maroon 5, but I have to give a shout-out to Imagine Dragons and Pentatonix as well… they all rock! My favourite song from Maroon 5 would be Moves Like Jagger. I will never stop loving that song…

6) How old are you and what do you do for a living?

I’m 17 and a student at school. I mean, we just had our last day of school a couple of weeks back, but our exams are gonna last for a long while, so… still a school student for now. 😉

7) A writer you want to meet and what would you say if you met him/her.

Ohmygosh J.K. Rowling. Or Rick Riordan. Or Neil Gaiman. Or Cassandra Clare. Or Stephen King. Arrggh I don’t know.

8) Zombies or Unicorns?

9) Favorite contemporary author and book.

Right now, it’s probably Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

10) One thing you want to say to me.

Hey there, sis! I just want you to know that you’re one AWESOME person and I’m SO glad that I met you. I hope we keep in touch forever (so that if you ever manage to bring Will Herondale to life, you don’t forget to call me up! 😉 ).

Okay now… moving on to the Liebster Award… drumroll please…

1. Acknowledge the blog that nominated you and display the award.
2. Answer 11 question that the blog gives you.
3. Give 11 random facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 5-11 blogs you think are deserving of the award that have less than 200 followers.
5. Let the blogs know you have nominated them.
6. Give them 11 questions to answer.

Umm… she hasn’t left any, so I’m gonna answer the ones that she was asked.

01. If you could only take 3 books with you to Mars which ones would they be?

I hope there are libraries or bookstores in Mars, because there’s no way that I’ll last long with only 3 books with me. I’d take Robinson Crusoe in the hopes of picking up some survival skills, the Percy Jackson series because I only trust Uncle Rick to make me laugh when I’m having the dullest time possible (who can have fun without books??!), and something by Neil Gaiman because Neil Gaiman = perfect and I like perfect things like that.

02. Name a writer you’d invite to dinner?

Arrgh I don’t like these questions, I never know how to answer them!!! I’ll just invite everyone I mentioned in Ans7. above.

03. Pick a book everyone loved but you hated.

I remember reading a couple of books like that this year, but I can’t recall them now.

04. Pick a book you think should be banned.

None. Everyone has his/her own opinions. Just because I don’t like a book doesn’t mean someone else won’t like it either. By banning the book, that person loses the opportunity to even read it and that’s just unfair. Also, every book is the result of many people’s hard work and each of them deserve a chance to be out there and read.

05. Who is your most read writer?

Either Stephen King or Agatha Christie or Rick Riordan. I’m definitely too lazy to count and decide.

06. Name a series you couldn’t finish.

I started reading The Heir (book 4 of the The Selection series) but I quit after about 5 pages because I thought the main character was too snobby. Too quick a judgement, I know, but I really wasn’t in the mood then. Maybe I’ll pick up the book again later… DNF-ing is not really my thing.

07. Name a classic you think everyone should read.

Pride and Prejudice. And Oliver Twist. And also, if you can tolerate just a bit more of dark, The Picture of Dorian Grey. They’re all amazing books. (Well, pretty much all classics are amazing, but that’s not the point.)

08. Name a graphic novel you want to turn into a book.

Like Alex, I don’t read graphic novels…

09. Name a book you want to turn into a graphic novel.

Umm… since I don’t READ graphic novels… *shrugs*

10. Favourite time period to write about.

The post-apocalyptic world, I think.

11. A writer you want to write your biography.

Rick Riordan, without a doubt. Funny and sarcastic is definitely how I’d want my biography to be.

1. I was originally named Vramori but later my parents decided to change the spelling to Bhramori. I know in English the two pronunciations are quite different from each other, but in Bengali, my mother tongue, ‘V’ is pretty much equivalent to ‘Bh’.

(Wow, that must’ve been the most boring random fact you’ve ever heard…)

2. I am a vegetarian — been one for 8 years.

(And that was even more boring…)

3. I am totally jealous of people who know how to sneeze silently. Like, how do you guys do it?! Also, raising an eyebrow. I have RUINED MY FOREHEAD TRYING TO DO IT, I think — but I always, ALWAYS get both my eyebrows up together. Why can’t I raise A SINGLE EYEBROW??!

3. When I was young, I participated in a race — when it was time to run, I ran in the opposite direction! The referee had to chase me around the field a whole 3 times to catch me. And I actually thought I had won! 😛

4. My friends at school often call me ‘Bharmione’. It’s a nickname they’ve made by joining my name with Hermione. Apparently, I’m a lot like her…

5. I have a fascination with names that begin with ‘C’. Like, Cassandra and Cordelia and Cynthia… C names are all so beautiful! ❤

6. My favourite word keeps changing all the time, but right now it’s ‘nostalgia’.

7. I have a host of pigeons living in my balcony. All day long, they keep moaning (really, their sounds are just like moans! And they keep doing it all the time!) and leaving poop everywhere. I’m quite fond of them, but sometimes they really annoy me.

8. In spite of this, I plan to have a lot of pets when I start living on my own. I want to have a parrot and two rabbits and a dog and a cat. And an aquarium. I MUST HAVE AN AQUARIUM IN MY HOUSE.

(Can I also have a pet squirrel…?)

9. I want to learn all the languages in the world. But I know that’s not possible, so I have convinced myself to keep it restricted to only French, Spanish, Italian, Latin and Galician.

10. This one is gonna give you all a shock — I’VE NEVER HAD A SINGLE CRUSH IN MY 17 YEARS OF LIFE. Honestly. Even I don’t understand how it’s possible, but it is. I have celebrity crushes and book boyfriends, obviously, but I’ve never liked a person in that way in real life. Hard to believe, isn’t it? 😉

11. I have realised that I suck at giving out facts about myself so now I’m going to stop.

Okay guys, I already said I’m not gonna nominate anyone, but if you wanna do an award post then you can just pick either one (or both) and post on your blog. You can answer the questions that I answered. Link back here, though! (That way I’ll be able to tag you in this post.)

Bye for now! Have a great day! 😀

12 Days of Christmas Book Tag

Belated merry Christmas, guys! 😀 I hope you all had a lovely, wonderful time? Well, I sure did — and I still haven’t been able to get over the festive mood (and the FOOOOD — mmmm!). So obviously, I went searching for some Christmas-y book tags for me to do here, and my — the blogosphere’s been creative coming up with them! This is my favourite out of the bunch: the 12 Days of Christmas Book Tag, which I got from Summer @ Xingsings. Heigh-ho! 😀

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: a partridge in a pear tree.

…The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favourite stand alone?

Umm… I have a feeling I’ve mentioned this book way too many times on this blog…
…but guess what, I’ll just shamelessly say it again. 😛

Yep, you guessed it right — Just One Wish by Janette Rallison. God, I just LOVE that book. ❤

On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: two turtle doves.

…Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?

I don’t think it’s possible for any of us bookworms to have only one ‘one true pairing’, but somehow, whenever I hear that phrase, I automatically think: Elizabeth and Darcy. Their relationship is just so incredibly CUTE!!! ❤ ❤

Me: *dies*

On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: Three French Hens.

…In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?

Umm… it’s a tie between The Infernal Devices and the Legend trilogy. Both of them are just perfect. *_*

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: four calling birds.

…Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favourite series?

This is the easiest question under the sun. Harry Potter, of course! No other series could ever occupy such a mega-huge part of my childhood, my heart and just my overall life.

Hogwarts: My home, forever. ^_^

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: five golden rings.

…One ring to rule them all! Who is your favourite Villain/Antagonist?

Sebastian from The Mortal Instruments. Enough said.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: six geese a laying.

…Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favourite world/world-building?

Can I just say Harry Potter again? No? Okay then… I’ll have to settle for the next-best one : the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. It has everything a world can possibly have! I swear, I just don’t know how these authors manage to create these worlds… (and why they don’t just turn their worlds into reality for us… 😦 )

On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: seven swans a swimming.

…Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favourite animal sidekick?

Oh gosh, there are so many! I’m tempted to choose between Hedwig or Crookshanks, but I have another totally awesome animal friend in mind — Blackjack from Percy Jackson! 😀 He’s the coolest creature in the world, and I love him to death. 😀

You go, Blackjack! 😀

On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: eight maids a milking.

…Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?

Okay, now I definitely can’t resist any longer. When it comes to food and beverages, I MUST use Harry Potter as the answer! Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavoured Beans and Acid Pops and Butterbeer — it’s all so yum! I think I could practically spent the entirety of my life in Honeydukes alone. 😀

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: nine ladies dancing.

…Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favourite kickass female lead?

Okay, this is SO not fair, there are so many kickass heroines to choose from! :/ If I was forced to narrow it down, though, I’d probably go for Celaena from Throne of Glass or June from the Legend trilogy. I LOVE THEM BOTH.

Pretty kickass, eh? 😀

On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: ten lords a leaping.

…How about your favourite leading lad?

Oh, this is easy. Percy Jackson all the way! 😀

On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me: eleven pipes piping.

…What is your favourite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

Umm… off the top of my head, the only book that’s coming to my mind is Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, so I guess that’ll have to do.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: 12 drummers drumming.

…Drum roll please… what is your favourite read of this year?

Whaaatt??!! 😮 Okay, no way can I answer this question. There are SO MANY awesome books I read this year!!! Books like Bang and Beloved and Throne of Glass and Fangirl and A Court of Thorns and Roses and Living Dead Girl; AND also series’ like The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices and the Legend trilogy… HOW AM I TO CHOOSE???

Uh, so that’s it, I guess. This post was supposed to be up on the 25th, but… I don’t know, something went wrong with WP. *shrugs* Anyway, here’s wishing you all a belated Merry Christmas! 😀 Do tell me how your Christmas days went, I’m all tuned in!!! 😉

Love you guys the best,

The Crazy Perfectionist ❤
