I’ve currently just begun reading Angelfall by Susan Ee, one of the many books which I’d planned to pick up much before but didn’t get around to.

Here’s something from page 34:

It’s not until I’m done and looking at him that I notice that he is looking back at me. All that hogtying must have woken him up. His eyes are a deep blue, so deep they’re almost black. I take a step back and swallow the absurd guilt that surfaces.

Like I said, I’ve only just begun reading the book. Still, I think I’ve seen enough of this post-apocalytic world to know that I wouldn’t wanna live there. Man, it sounds real bad.

(Well, if I were to suddenly come across a mysterious snowy white angel who seems to be my enemy but also seems to protect me… that kind of thing might make me change my mind. Just maybe. 😉 )

The book has me hooked in, though. I’m quite eager to know what happens next, and whether Penryn manages to find her sister or not. I hope the book doesn’t disappoint me. Judging from the excellent reviews it has got, it most likely won’t. Let’s wait and watch (read)!
