Do you think I should participate in bookish memes?

I have always wanted to do them, but I’m not sure that I’d be able to keep up with the regularity. I love reading the lists of different bloggers for TTT, the teasers they share for Teaser Tuesday, the quotes for That’s What He Said Thursday. I’d love to share them too. But as soon as the thought comes, I step back. Because what if I can’t keep up? What if one month I’m doing it and next month I’m too busy and I can’t? What then? I’m a perfectionist, I like my things organised, I don’t want to get myself into something that I know I’m gonna mess up. No one would want that, for that matter.

So, I’m asking you people. What do you think? Should I join in? Because like I said, I want to, but I’m not sure if I should.

  1. If you want to then you should. I understand being a perfectionist and wanting it all to look neat and organized but don’t let that stop you from doing what makes you happy and having fun! In my opinion, doing it irregularly is better than not doing it all. If you find yourself suddenly having loads of free time then prepare them beforehand, especially TTT because you already know the topic in advance. But in the end you shouldn’t feel obligated to keep up with it every week; if you’re busy then give yourself a break. Trust me, your readers wont mind because we all have days with tighter schedules. And you’ll still be the Crazy Perfectionist we all know and love. ❀
I, for one, would love to stalk your memes! πŸ™‚

    • Okay, I’m just… I can’t even… you’re the best, Tasha! Thank you so, so much! ❀ You're just always there whenever I need, whether for fangirling or talking about life and books or for just about anything! Thanks again.
Aaand… you might want to put on your Shadowhunter gear now, coz now it's my turn for rib-cracking hugs! πŸ˜‰

      • Aww… thanks Bhramori, that really means a lot to me! Don’t even mention it. What else are rib crushing friends for? ❀
Don't ever hesitate to talk to me, Bhramori!
Like, do you have to say things like that to me? I was already an emotional wreck earlier and now it's night and it's ALWAYS worst at night. You're making me tear up again.
That's a relief because I desperately need one, rib-cracking or not. *puts on the gear*

        • Well, you’re one of the most caring friends I’ve made here on the blogosphere, so obviously I’m gonna let you know that, won’t I? πŸ˜‰
Did the hugs help? Are you better now? You can talk to me anytime too, you know! ❀
P.S. I'm sorry for this extremely late reply, somehow I missed the comments on this post!

You’re one of the most caring friends I’ve made on here too. And I don’t think I’m fine, but I’m just trying to push it down for now because I have major exams starting next week that goes on for a month and I need to keep my head in the game.
I might have to take you up on your offer to talk one day. ❀

  2. Exactly what Tasha said, you don’t have to feel obligated to do it every day or week. I only do TTT but it’s not possible for me to post every Tuesday, so I do it when I’ve got time and only if it seems fun to me. So do it if you like it or want it, really, there’s no pressure in these memes, no one’s going to say anything if you miss them or don’t do them. So do it for fun if yoy want! πŸ™‚

  3. I feel like I’m just repeating things here, but I’ll say it anyway: Do what’s good for you! You don’t have to feel obligated to do any of the memes, just do it when you feel like it or when you have the time! No matter what us readers will be happy with whatever you choose. πŸ™‚ Good luck! ❀

    • Thanks a lot, Analee, that’s very encouraging! πŸ™‚ I’ve finalised 3 memes for myself and I’m trying to get them into a schedule. My annual exams are coming, though, so I’m afraid that the schedule may get broken up before it even settles in properly. 😦

  4. Again, copying what everyone else says, but if you want to, go ahead! You can always take a break from a particular meme if necessary, no ones forcing you! If you feel like you don’t have time for longer memes, try a short one, like a teaser. Not sure if you were aware, but there is a book blog meme directory. I forgot the name of the blog, but if you type in blog meme directory (or something similar) it should come up. Good luck!

  5. You’ve obviously made your decision and I agree. But take me for instance. I haven’t done a TTT or even a post in forever, but luckily I have Amy! She’s like you. Crazy, organized, and on schedule. But you won’t have an Amy. But even if you only posted one time, and what was it, I would love to read it and I did love your post!! Stay beautiful, but not the beautiful according to the mirror.

    • Ah well, I’ve started 3 weekly memes. Now let’s see how regularly I can do them… already my second TTT is a day late. *shakes head* this is what I feared. But anyway, I’ve learnt not to stress about it too much, thanks to all the wonderful people who commented! πŸ™‚

      • You’re doing awesome. I haven’t done a TTT in forever… I haven’t told Amy this yet, but I think I’m going to shed TTTs in favor of bringing to life two of my meme ideas. I might do them occasionally if I like the topic, but they take me forever to do and I haven’t even done one in a few weeks, so…. My only concern is that people aren’t going to participate in them. :/

        • Well, if that’s what you want, then get them started right away! πŸ˜€ Don’t worry about whether anyone’s gonna participate, just have fun yourselves. πŸ™‚ If people find it easy enough and interesting enough (that was my criteria when I was searching for the memes, but it must differ person to person) then they’ll jump in themselves. Just make sure you’re enjoying yourself ❀
